Company History

Way back in 1972 when Hans and Pauline Overbeeke began Stirling Heating and Cooling, client demands were reasonably simple – "make the room warmer or cooler". They responded to these requests by installing Daikin window type room air conditioners, Vulcan oil heaters, Coolair evaporative coolers and Ferroli boilers in floor hydronic heating systems.

The company grew over the next few years, and began concentrating on Daikin single split and ducted systems. The trading name was changed to Affordable Airconditioning and with further company growth and strong loyalty to the Daikin quality, culminated in becoming South Australia's largest residential dealer for the last eleven years and Australia’s largest residential Daikin dealer in 1998, 1999 and 2000.

This led to further growth and relocation in 1998, to larger premises at Frewville, a suburb central to most metropolitan areas, but still easily able to service the hills areas, enabling us to serve our clients even better. Since this time we have also successfully established sales and service agencies in the South Coast and Clare district. Total sales until 2005 are now $40,000,000

We proudly believe that we have one of the most professional companies in the air conditioning industry specialising in residential and light commercial projects. We have achieved an unmatched record of winning several awards within the building and air conditioning industry. We have a high level of ongoing commitment to training. Our company, and design and management staff, are current and past members of relevant organizations.

Hans completed his masters in 2003 (Sydney University) and was selected as the most outstanding graduate by the Australian Institute of Building (NSW Chapter).
