Two additions in the 11.2 and 15.5 kW classes are added to the current 14 kW class, broadening this lineup to 3 models with connectibility t a maximum of 9* indoor units.

Newly designed indoor units

29 models of indoor units in 7 types (heat pump) -- ceiling - mounted cassette, ceiling-mounted built-in, ceiling-suspended, duct-connected, wall-mounted, floor-standing and floor/ceiling-suspended dual type -- provide a wider choice for interior coordination.

High energy savings

Advanced DC inverter, reluctance DC compressor and DC fan motor technologies achieve high COP values.

Quieter operation

Lastest technologies and features achieve a quiet 48 dB sound during night quiet mode operation for the 14 kW class outdoor unit and ensure comfortable operation.

Great flexibility in installation

Longer piping lengths of 135 m for the 14 kW class outdoor unit and simplified wiring reduce restrictions on the installation postion, while the improved BP unit is easier to disassemble, making repairing and recycling simpler.

The Super Multi Plus is an energy-saving and quiet air conditioning system that uses high level of advanced new technologies.

High Energy Savings

DC inverter power control ensures the air conditioner operates at low capacity most of the time. This is especially important at night in a residential situation when the whole family is at home. DC inverter power control is able to achieve a high COP even when multiple indoor units operate simultaneously for long periods of time.

Powerful Operation and Precise Control

Daikin DC inverter power control can adjust current frequency to any point in the range of 25 Hz to 98 Hz for cooling operation. This gives much more precise control of operating capacity than conventional air conditioners, which have preset current frequency levels.

DC inverter power control uses its full capacity at started up to quickly reach the set temperature. As soon as this temperature is achieved, it finely adjusts capacity to match any changes. DC inverter power control is so precise that it can sense changes in room temperature as minute as ±0.5°C.

Reluctance DC Motor (Click image to enlarge)

The reluctance DC motor achieves major increases in efficiency over conventional AC inverter motors by simultaneously using two different types of torque to produce a strong force from small electric currents. Improvements of 20% have been realised in the low-frequency range where the air conditioner most often operates.

The reluctance DC motor marks the first time that powerful neodymium magnets have been used in air conditioners. These magnets are approximately 10 times stronger than ferrite magnets and play a major role in this energy -saving motor.

MIO Control (Click image to enlarge)

MIO (multi input and output) control simultaneously outputs multiple signals based on multiple pieces of input information. This gives much better control of the expansion valve and compressor than in conventional inverter models, and allows the air conditioner to quickly respond to changes in room temperature to avoid overshooting.

Reluctance DC motor

The oval scroll compressor is both more efficient and produces less vibration than conventional scroll compressors. Improvements to the shape of the suction gas passage have resulted in higher compression efficiency, and the alternative shape of the discharge port has reduced vibration and noise.

PAM Control

PAM (pulse amplitude modulation) control improves operating power by controlling motor voltage even under high load to achieve high rotational speed. It also produces energy savings by reducing switching frequency in converter control to lower noise loss and switching loss for substantial energy savings.

DC Fan Motor

The DC fan motor offers substantial improvements in operating efficiency over conventional AC motors, particularly which rotating at low speed.
