General Operating Procedures
- Do turn on your system early when you know that it is going to be very hot or very cold. This will enable the equipment to reach set temperature and maintain it more efficiently.
- Switch on areas required to be cooled / heated before turning on air conditioning unit.
- Switch off areas after air conditioning unit has been turned off.
- Do not leave area switches on unless being used, as this may shorten the lifespan of the zone motor (up to and including 2002).
- Ensure the return air filter and grille is kept clean. Check regularly. A blocked filter may cause a system failure and result in expensive repairs. Should the dirty filter symbol (dripping tap) appear on the control panel, stop the system & clean the filter immediately before turning your air conditioning back on.
- Do not close doors between the operating air outlet and the return air filter to ensure optimum performance of your system.
- Do close doors to areas that are not being air conditioned
- Do close windows in areas being air conditioned. You will still have a percentage of fresh air entering the house as most buildings 'leak' air - we all know about those draughts that are hard to track down.
- You may experiment with temperature settings, if required, using small increments at a time, to achieve personal comfort, but be aware that settings that are 'unreasonable' ie. 17°C on a 37°C day may cause your system to fail. At the very least it will be operating at maximum power usage.
- Do have your system regularly serviced. We recommend every 18 months to 2 years.
